Kellen and Scott first met at UCSD after Scott returned from his tenure studying abroad. This was one of their first dates, a Caravan Palace concert, around two weeks after they started dating.

On spring break of our final year in undergrad, we took a cruise with several of our friends, resulting in some of the best (and most hilariously tacky) pictures that we have together to date.

After graduation, Kellen and Scott both stayed in San Diego where they worked their first positions out of college.

In early February 2017, Kellen and Scott adopted a one year old Maltese Poodle mix, and lovingly named him Milou after the comic book "The Adventures of Tin Tin"

Easily the best choice that either of them have made to this day.

2017 saw life adjusting with a new pup. Kellen moved to the Tri Cities in Washington near the end of the year, pushing the relationship into a temporary long distance.

In 2018, Scott took a new position in Vancouver Washington that could improve his career and land him closer to the Tri Cities. Since it was still a three and a half hour commute, Kellen and Scott would visit each other every weekend, trading off taking care of Milou.

2019 saw Kellen purchase his first home in the Tri Cities. Scott accepted an offer at PNNL, further progressing his career and allowing him to move in with Kellen. Already frequent travelers, this picture was taken in Seoul, South Korea as they continued the annual tradition of visiting and exploring at least one new country together.

2020 was the first full year that Kellen and Scott lived together in a house of their own. It was also the onset of COVID-19, forcing remote work and a pause in most exploration.

In January 2021, they adopted their second dog, Dupont (or Duper), keeping with the adventures of tin tin theming.

The second best decision they ever made.

As the pandemic continued and vaccines started to release, Kellen and Scott took advantage of the continued work from home opportunity to pursue two months on the road living in a newly purchased travel trailer, where they toured the south with their two dogs. This was in Atlanta.

As the pandemic became more manageable, Kellen and Scott moved out of the Tri Cities and into Seattle. This gave them more opportunities to travel and explore new areas.

It made travel easier to Canada as well, with 2022 being the year they went to Canada every two months. This was in Vancouver.

2023 brought many happy changes. Scott first proposed to Kellen in Santorini on a trip through Greece and Croatia. This wasn't necessarily a surprise, as a proposal had been discussed several times in the past. Kellen then proposed to Scott, separately, in Croatia and brought in a few friends to celebrate. Needless to say, Kellen won the proposal game! 2023 was also the year that Kellen and Scott bought their first house together, in Federal Way Washington, about 30 minutes outside of Seattle.

Buying their first home together threw Kellen and Scott into a multi year long renovation project that, with plenty of help from friends and family, brought the home into the 21st century.

In 2025, renovations neared completion. Their house was fully livable with smaller things like landscaping left to complete. They began to attend more events like concerts and travel became more frequent now that COVID was fully a thing of the past.

They began planning their wedding in 2025, so that they could have a fun festive celebration with their friends and family that have supported them in their endeavors.
