Q + A

How do I book my room?

We've blocked off a number of rooms at the resort. There is a link provided above to book your room. Alternatively, if you go to the website of the resort (Villa La Valencia) you can use the group code "skwedding". Double check the dates that are selected when visiting the site. PLEASE NOTE that when booking through our room block above, the two person all inclusive Deluxe Studio Pool View room is subject to an additional $100 off the total (post tax) price per night (for up to two nights), to be applied at the end of your stay. The non all inclusive Deluxe Studio Pool View room is subject to an additional $20 off the total (post tax) price per night (for up to two nights) when booked through our room block above, to be applied at the end of your stay. These discounts are not reflected in Villa La Valencia's website, AND ARE ONLY APPLICABLE WHEN BOOKING THROUGH THE ROOM BLOCK LINK. These discounts will be applied upon checkout from the resort. If you have any questions or need any help booking, please feel free to reach out!

When do I need to be there?

Our official events are on Friday, December 11th 2026 and Saturday, December 12th 2026. You are more than welcome to come a day early and spend some more time at the resort with us (though some discounts for the rooms may not apply all three days). We will be there several days beforehand! If you need to come late, the wedding will take place Saturday afternoon!

When do I have to have my room booked?

The block that we have gets released to the general public on October 10, 2026. But in order to apply the fully discounted rate properly on your room, please book by September 1st, 2026. Have your room booked before then!

Can we bring our kids?

Kids are absolutely welcome! And the resort has a lovely kids club! But we do want you to consider whether you would enjoy the weekend more without your children present. We want this to be a fun and relaxing experience for everyone, and we know that can sometimes be difficult with children. If you do decide to travel with your children, please let us know so that we can make sure they have a seat at our events!

I found a cheaper rate online for a room?

That's great! We absolutely want everyone to do their due diligence to get the best rates they can when coming down for the wedding. Prices on third party platforms do fluctuate, and the room block generally speaking does offer a substantial markdown. From our experience, the all inclusive rates for two people at this hotel tend to be more than $500 per night if booked via third party, and around $300 per night for the room only - our room block ensures everyone pays the same rate ($369 per night per couple for all inclusive base rate, $214 per night non all inclusive base rate). There may be an additional discount when booking through our room block depending on your room selection (see above). Obviously prices do fluctuate upwards if you opt for the suites, ocean views, etc. Just make sure to verify that the cheaper rate that you found is for the type of room that you want - all inclusive or just the room.

Why Cabo?

Weddings can be expensive! Cabo provided us the opportunity to have everyone in the same place for more than one day, at a rate that was more affordable than the United States. Cabo is also a shorter flight from the West Coast of the United States than other resort destinations in Mexico, and it offers more direct flights from the west coast which is where the majority of our guests are coming from. We both also love the warm weather and are excited to have a beach weekend in the heart of the winter!

Why this resort?

We have toured seven resorts in Cabo. Villa La Valencia, while not perfect, struck the right balance of luxury, affordability, flexibility, and vibe that we were looking for. Its a more modern hotel, built in 2020. The rooms are nice, and they have all inclusive options as well as room only options, if you aren't interested in getting food or drinks on site (though we highly encourage all inclusive as food can be expensive on site and the resort is quite far from other restaurants. We also highly encourage having a few libations while you are on vacation!). Alternatively, they do offer suites with full kitchens if you would rather grocery shop and cook meals for yourself. While food at all inclusive resorts is never mind blowing, we found it to be markedly better than other all inclusives that we stayed at. We also fell in love with the lazy river while we were visiting (it's the only one in Cabo!), and we know you will too!

Is it safe?

We believe Cabo is as safe as you make it. While if can be dangerous if you flaunt your wealth, just being courteous and always having a plan of where you are going and how you are getting there can help you avoid most unsafe circumstances. We have traveled to Cabo many times without issue.

How do I get to the resort from the airport?

Uber is your best option. Upon departing from your plane, you will make your way past two separate customs sections (one before grabbing your bag, one after). After stepping outside of that second customs section, there will be several people asking if you would like a taxi. You are welcome to take a taxi but I know that Uber is reliable and affordable. If you book an uber, you will need to continue down that hallway and make a right toward the outside. Before stepping outside, you will see a stairway to your left. The Uber pickup is on the second story. Make your way up the stairs and out the doors to your right. If you need help, please feel free to reach out and we can make sure that you get to the resort safe and sound.

Someone at the hotel is offering a special gift for watching a presentation?

One of the downsides of Cabo is that many of the resorts double as timeshares. If you are approached by someone offering something for free in exchange for watching a presentation, we ask that you kindly decline. The hotel doesn't have any obligation to fulfill that promise, and the time share presentations can waste hours of your day. If you do accept, note that you have been warned beforehand!

I don't see a registry, what should I get you?

We have been living together for years now. Please do not get us a gift! Your presence is the best gift of all! Spend that extra money so that you and your family / friends can have a good time with us while you're out here!

Ew! Two men kissing is icky!

We hope that you don't feel this way, but if this is your genuine reaction, then this probably isn't the wedding for you to attend!
